HOW CLOSE IS BATMAN ARKHAM KNIGHT TO BEING FINISHED FOR PC?
How Much Progress Has Been Made?
Earlier in June, Warner Brothers Studios released Batman Arkham Knight on Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, and last-gen consoles respectively. The gameplay was beautiful, the graphics were everything we had expected from this series finale; there was just one small issue.
It was basically unplayable on PC.
Frame rate was the major issue. Pc's that were getting 60 FPS on AAA games previously were now in the range of 15-30, which drastically staggers performance.
Futhermore, WB Studios were fully aware of this issue, yet released the game in its broken state. A small patch was put out a few days after release that made a small chip in the issue, but after all of the issues end consumers were having, WB pulled physical and digital copies of the PC game.
Fast forward to now, the developers have made little progress in resolving the issue. In an email sent to EB Games, the fix will not be ready until the Australian Spring, which begins in September in the US.
“As previously advised, we have stopped sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC while Warner and Rocksteady work on addressing performance issues with the game. The latest information from Warner is that the updates won’t be available until Spring. Due to this we have made the difficult decision to recall all PC stock from stores to return to the vendor until an acceptable solution is released.” - Email sent to EB Games.
So apparently, we can expect a fix to these issues come September. Whether or not the issues are fully corrected is a different matter entirely, as the team heading this fix also made these mistakes. Corporate greed must have had a hand in this as well, however, so it's hard to tell where to point the finger.
