VIDEO GAME STREAMING IS HERE

(And It Is Looking Good)
So What's This All About?

Newly developed advances in how Gamefly, a once home delivery game rental service, works is now leading to a new streaming service, which greatly mirrors the shift streaming empire Netflix partook in. With this new service, you will now be able to rent a game right from home, and instantly stream the game.

This has, in fact, been around for quite awhile, but was only compatible with Amazon Fire TV. But what's really groundbreaking about all of this is the fact that Gamefly and Samsung have joined forces to establish Gamefly streaming through Samsung Smart TV's. This open's up an exciting new way to play video games, and will establish a much greater audience for the subscription based platform.

Wait, Subscription?

You have heard correctly. As of right now, everything is a flat rate subscription fee depending on what you are looking for. For $7.00 a month, you can get a bundle of games at a time, usually all focusing on a certain genre. Of course, there is different pricing and plans and what-not, but the bundling of the rentals remains universal. More information on bundles and pricing can be found here.

More Juicy Information!

In a nutshell, the whole Gamefly streaming branch off is a great thing, and is sure t drive a lot of contest in how video game streaming works. Who knows, maybe someday you will be able to rent just a singular game from your couch without having to get a bundle?

But is it still worthwhile to use the hardcopy plan as well?

All promotional gigs aside, the ability to get one game at a time $15.95 a month. If you want two games at the same time, the price jumps to $22.95. Gamefly typically ships games out withing two business days after you receive email confirmation, so if it takes two days to arrive and about a work week to beat, you're most likely looking at around 3 games a month with the singular plan, and more with the dual disc plan, considering you have the time to beat them all.

In conclusion, I'm glad everything is being designed to cater to the fact that I do not want to leave my couch.
