What's In Store For Pax Prime 2015?

Rejoice people of the greater Seattle area! The one time of year where it pays to turn off the computer, put the cat up for a week at a boarding facility, and leave your Pokeman blanked King sized bed. And boy, it is worth your time.

While Pax used to be a tiny gathering of enthusiastic gamers, it has blossomed into a congregation of the nerd elite, the upper echelon of geekdom. And there has never been a time to be more proud of who you are.

This years convention marking the eleven year anniversary of Pax, we have decided to take a look at the main highlights that will be showcased.

Brief Rundown & Main Highlights

Finely combing through the itinerary readily available on the PAX website, we have pinpointed a few events that we have deemed crucial to attend.

NVIDIA: Play The Future - "From DX12 optimized developer tools to vivid 4K to fully immersive Virtual Reality – learn how NVIDIA is bringing tomorrow’s interactive gaming experiences to life." In short, NVIDIA is going to be bringing some high tech innovations in how we experience VR (Virtual Reality). Not only that, but joining both 4K Resolution and VR? And to make the deal even sweeter, they will be streaming the whole ideal live at Twitch.tv/TeamNVIDIA!

Flagged For PvP: Examining Culture, Identity, and Bullying - This panel takes a look at the darker side of online Player vs Player situations. It's all about how sometimes, when pit against one another, these situations can give birth to new friendships, while others breed hate and bullying. More importantly, they will be taking a look at the steps that can be taken to prevent these bad situations, which is something that is definately needed in todays competitive gaming world.

Women In The Gaming Industry - This panel showcases numerous women who have a major impact in gaming as we know it. They will be discussing the obstacles and struggles they face, but also the joys that come with being a part of the industry. This panel will feature women who have worked with Xbox, 3D Realms, Microsoft, and more. Definately worth a check out, whether you're male or female. I mean, who doesn't want to be a part of the best industry on Earth?

Nerdcore Music: Evolving with Geek Culture - This panel is a discussion on the evolution of Nerd Hip Hop. While this may not seem a big deal, it's actually growing in popularity exponentially. The hosts will be discussing the evolution of this not-so underground music, and how it will continue to grow and change as time goes on.

Autograph Session: Markiplier - Go hang out and have a chat with everyones favorite Let's Player, Markiplier. Based upon the description of the event, he's probably gonna chew your ear off. If so, get your autograph, maybe get a used tissue or worn clothing item, and get moving.

What Else Is There To Do?

Alright, so panels and demonstrations aren't your thing. What else is there to do? If you are asking this question, please give your ticket to us, because there is an endless amount of amazing stuff to do here.

GET FREE STUFF - There are so many booths and tables at PAX from all kinds of people who are looking to use you as a walking advertisement, so let them hook you up. You can score some new gaming merchandise, insider info about upcoming games and software, and so much more. So bring a bag, and try to get as much as you can.

Play As Many Games As You Can - PAX is notorious for its demonstrations and playable demos. You will literally hit something you can play about every 10 feet. Our suggestion? If it looks good, play it. If it doesn't look good, play it anyways.

People Watch - People at PAX is one of the biggest reasons to go. You are going to see a five foot tall, 300 lb Darth Vader, a full grown man dressed as Princess Leia, and pretty much every single anime character and video game icon that you can imagine. Lightsaber duels will be plentiful, and some people may even come off as dangerous, but all is fair game in the magical world of Cosplay.

Competitions here, on just about every console are going to be a major event as well. Pick your poison, be it PC, Console, Handheld, or Table Top, there will be competitions for them all. So if you fancy yourself a professional Mario Kart or Mortal Kombat player, then prove it.
